In loving memory

John Joseph Prisby

July 5, 1958 - March 27, 2016

John Joseph Prisby, 57, died on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016, comforted by members of his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew Joseph Prisby, and Adelene Eleanor (Capizzi) Prisby, as well as his sister-in-law Sheryl Sirisky Prisby. John was the seventh child in a family of nine - Adalie (Ray) Walker of Hudson, OH, Matt Prisby of Charleston, SC, Tessa (Mark) Begley of New Brighton, PA, Bob (Nancy Cabot) Prisby of Manteo, NC, Lynn (Tim Bailey) Prisby of Pleasant Hills, PA, Jeanne Prisby of Wexford, PA, Patty (Scott) Wolz of Ashburn, VA, and Gary (Peggy McMillan) Prisby of Carnegie, PA.

John grew up in McMurray, PA and graduated from Peters Township High School in 1976. He remained in the area, working at The Dairy Bar, Lakeside Tavern, Labor Temple, and Al's Cafe - a place where old friends (and family!) would gather. People liked John.

John was a sports fan - he was from Pittsburgh, after all. He was also a fan of a diverse range of music, from Led Zeppelin to Barry White.

John had several health issues throughout his adulthood, but he dealt with the challenges as best he could, maintaining his sense of humor and capacity to make new friends. His family, their spouses, his nieces and nephews are comforted that he is now at peace, and will remember him fondly.

John did some crazy things as a child but for him I think they made sense. Still, often times they did not turn out right. As an adult however, it is clear that he did things right because people liked John... people liked John.

he ain't heavy,
he's my brother
